[2016 Canadian Architect Award of Excellence - Award of Merit]

C HOUSE is an urban co-habitation prototype, a modified co-housing that takes the emerging lifestyles of our urban life as its architectural assignment. Students, young-professionals, young-adults, young-families, intergenerational-families, migrants, and immigrants and so on, these multi-faceted forms of ‘households’ are populating our urban centers and their flexible living arrangements are increasingly becoming a part of our urban economy/ecology.

While modified single-family houses and varying scales of collective housings sufficiently accommodate these emerging forms of living, C HOUSE takes them as a spatial opportunity that aims to celebrate such forms as a mainstream.
